Promoting biodegradable stickers has brought us many new, interesting customers. They all have one thing in common, and that is to try and make their products more eco-friendly, be it through their ingredients or simply with the packaging they are sold in. Having been successful in winning over another new customer, we learnt that this one isn’t just about promoting the right image, this one is passionate, about absolutely everything from what goes into their skin care range, the packaging that is used and also how sustainable their products and packaging can be through re-usability.

We are proud to introduce our new customer Proverb Skin to the GREEN LABEL family and would like to share a little more about their ethos and vision:

A BIT ABOUT PROVERB SKIN

We spoke to Kirstie Sherriff and asked how Proverb Skin came about. Kirstie and her husband Luke, met at Oxford University. Luke became a professional rugby player for the Harlequins while Kirstie decided on a very different path - beauty therapy. It is quite unimaginable that these two occupations could become so intertwined.

Kirstie, as a beauty therapist soon became well known in her industry and while tutoring on the subject began to question what the products she promoted actually contained. Her husbands fitness coach was a huge advocate of a diet filled with organic foods and the team followed his diet plan. The difference this made in the health, resilience and well being of her husband and his team were literally astounding. This set her on a course to establish her own brand. Her first brand Pinks Boutique was born.

GET OUT WHAT YOU PUT IN

Pinks Boutique range was made available through 5* spa resorts aimed at the female market, Through her connection with sport, Kirstie could see there was most definitely a market for a male version. Two years ago she began to research sports nutrition and diet sheets, to understand what male athletes require to be, well, athletic! This new brand, Proverb Skin, was set up to inspire men to feel better about their skin, body and mindset through being life fuelled, hence their strapline Get Out What You Put In.

Proverb Skin is now available in 5* spas such as Atlantic Caesars and Five but Kirstie doesn’t want to stop there. Deodorants and body wash are next on her target list and her team have now developed a refillable deodorant, all natural, all recyclable and biodegradable.

WHERE WE CAME IN

While Kirstie was researching for biodegradable packaging, she came across our website via a Google search. She was confident that we would be able to support her in her mission and requested a sample pack. She needed to make sure that the label’s adhesive would adhere well and was very pleased with the test results.

RECOMMENDING BIODEGRADABLE LABELS

When asked if she would recommend our biodegradable stickers to others, Kirstie was quick to confirm she would and added that she found us very helpful and responsive, just what you need when you are on a mission!

WHAT NEXT FOR PROVERB SKIN?

Kirstie is keen to promote her ‘green credentials’ but this is not her main driver. She believes that honesty in the ability of products and packaging to be biodegradable or compostable should be paramount and that simply saying that something is biodegradable should also be quantified.

She wants to bring their refillable deodorant to market, carving the way for others to follow, in the drive to produce less waste. She also has her sights set firmly on introducing her products to high end gyms making them more available.
