What is an eco-sticker?

At the GREEN LABEL company, we specialise in supplying bespoke eco stickers to customers who want more environmentally friendly packaging. But what exactly is an eco sticker?

Made from biodegradable or compostable materials, eco stickers originate from sustainable sources, and can be used directly on products and on packaging in different ways and for different purposes.

Eco Friendly Foiled Labels

Why use an eco sticker?

From a number of recent studies, we know the majority of consumers prefer eco packaging and are even prepared to pay more for it if it means protecting the environment from the harmful effects of landfill and potentially toxic waste.

Green products which have been developed to respect and protect the environment, use an eco sticker on products to easily and clearly communicate their brand ethos. However, green packaging is becoming far more sought after by all industries including technology for example, where being as sustainable as possible is high on the agenda.

Small Eco Friendly Labels

How to choose the most eco-friendly label

A small sticker can be equally impactful as a large label which has a lot of white space. It also costs less, so rethink eco packaging by using less material and less ink too. The most eco-friendly label will be small but perfectly presented! Choose from some amazing compostable and biodegradable sticker materials all with different benefits. Just some that we offer are:

Bagasse is an interesting material which is truly sustainable as it uses fibres from the sugar cane plant left over from sugar production. Essentially it is a by-product or waste. Bagasse is our hero as it causes little or no environmental impact.

Natureflex is suitable for composting and is available in clear as well as white. Developed in Japan and derived from cellulose.

Primecoat FSC is the most cost-effective option; It complies with DIN EN 13432. This is the European certification for biodegradability and compostability.

With varying shelf life of between 6 months to 2 years, testing the materials beforehand is always a good idea to see how they perform in specific conditions. Eco stickers are suitable for a whole range of products including cosmetics, food and drink, clothes and jewellery, and technology.
