It is FSC certified
Meaning the trees that are used to make the paper come from sustainable forests. The natural habitat of animals in the forest and even the native people that depend on it, are protected. More trees will be planted than those harvested, in order to maintain the forest and to demonstrate social responsibility. This is all managed by the Forest Stewardship Council which is a non-profit organisation.
It has good shelf life
Semi-gloss biodegradable (Primecoat FSC) has a shelf life of 2 years which practically makes it a legend in the world of biodegradable labels. By comparison Natureflex has a recommended shelf life of 6 months which is fantastic for a lot of products that are consumed quickly. If your product will be in use for a bit longer, then this is a great consideration for your biodegradable labels and stickers.
It is compliant with the European food regulation 1935/2004/EC
This means that labels and stickers made from semi-gloss biodegradable (Primecoat FSC) are safe with food and will not cause any kind of contamination if consumed.
It complies with DIN EN 13432
This is the European certification for biodegradability and compostability, and Semi-gloss biodegradable (Primecoat FSC) is OK to Compost, certified under the tracking number S0259. Please note that this certification is for compostability within an industrial facility.
